Twenty-five years in the trade. A new name on the truck.

I started in this trade in 2001 as an independent contractor working for a company called CRSI. I learned it on roofs, in attics, and at kitchen tables, explaining to homeowners what they were looking at and what it would take to fix it.

Early on, a homeowner who worked at 3M taught me something I never forgot. Before I quoted his roof, I went through his attic and his ventilation and told him plainly what I found. The job ran the way I said it would. He later brought me in to consult for his department at 3M on the ventilation systems they were developing. The lesson stuck: knowing how a roof actually works is the job. Too many roofers add a ridge vent and never touch the intake, and the homeowner pays good money for a roof that still cannot breathe. Doing it right the first time is everything.

Twenty-five years is a lot of roofs and a lot of storm seasons. I have watched too many homeowners get pressured or taken advantage of. It bothered me enough that I built a second company, Informify360, with plain-language guidebooks that put homeowners in the driver’s seat when they hire a contractor. Any contractor, including me.

Xteriors360 is new, and it comes after a hard stretch. I owned and ran an exteriors company for twenty-four years. Last year, for reasons that had nothing to do with the work, it closed. I tried a fresh start out of state and learned quickly that Minnesota is home. Almost as soon as I was back, people started asking me to look at their roofs. It is in my blood. Xteriors360 is the rebirth: twenty-four years of building, brought back under a new brand, stronger and clearer than ever about how this work should be done.

What I get out of it is simple: a job that turns out the way I said it would, and running into a customer at the grocery store years later who talks to me like a friend. A main point of contact matters more than most people realize until they have gone without one.
