How the pieces work together

Your exterior is one water‑management system.

A roof, gutters, siding, and windows are usually sold as four separate jobs. On the house, they are one system with one purpose: get water off and away. When one piece is wrong, the others pay for it.

    The roof sheds the water

Shingles, underlayment, and flashing move rain and snowmelt down and off the house. When the flashing at a chimney or a wall fails, water goes into the wall instead of the gutter - and the first sign is usually a stain on a ceiling two rooms away.

  2. 02

    The gutters carry it away

A gutter that is sized and pitched right takes water from the roof edge to the downspout and out past the foundation. One that is undersized or clogged overflows, and the water lands at the basement wall.

  3. 03

Siding and windows keep it out of the wall

House wrap, flashing at every window and door, and a kick-out flashing where the roof meets a wall are what keep the wall dry. Most siding and window failures are flashing failures, not material failures.

This is why we would rather look at the whole house than quote one piece of it. If your roof is fine but the gutters are dumping water at the foundation, that is what we will tell you.

One inspection, whole house

One free look covers all of it.

You do not have to know whether the problem is the roof, the flashing, or the gutters before you call. We walk the whole exterior, photograph what we find, and give you a plain-language read on what needs doing now, what can wait, and what is fine. If nothing needs doing, we say so.

  • Roof, siding, windows, and gutters looked at together
  • Photos of everything we find, so you see what we see
  • Repair, replace, or leave it alone - said plainly
  • No charge, no pressure. Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm.
